The Centre for Advanced Research and Design (CARD) of Venus International Foundation (VIF) organized a full day Annual Women's Meet on 3rd March 2018 at Radha Regent, Chennai.

It is a 3rd Meet and was attended by 160 participants (represented 6 Country: from Singapore, Oman, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates and India) those are in 'Continuous Regular Service in Academic Institution' working in the frontiers of Agricultural Sciences, Engineering, Health and Medical Sciences, Humanities and Social Sciences, Management, Science, Veterinary and Animal Sciences

The specific objectives of the Meet
To promote women in leadership and advancement for women in the profession
To provide enhanced opportunities for networking, and collaboration
To inspire, engage and advance women in science and technology
To recognize the achievements of women in science and technology

Inauguration

This Meet provided an opportunity for participants to create communities that fuel innovation, facilitate knowledge sharing and provide support through highly interactive sessions designed to foster discussion and collaboration. In many ways the meet is unique: the traditions of being by invitation only, have always been intended to promote intense and positive discussion between the experts in the field.

The intent of the meet is not archival publication, but rather to provide a forum to build community and to stimulate discussion, new insight and experimentation.

Women Awards Ceremony

The Venus International Women Awards (affectionately known as the VIWAs) are now in their third year. The VIWA scheme was instituted in the year 2016 by the CARD of VIF.

It is presented are presented yearly during the Annual Women's Meet (AWM) that is conducted during March month of the year and the scheme has a Criteria, Standards, Regulations, Application Form, Expert Committee and Judging Process etc that are governed by the Board of Trust.

The VIWA 2018 is convened by the CARD of VIF & conducted in accordance with the VIF BOARD MEETING resolution vide F.No.VIF/MIN/BM-IV/2017 held on September 29, 2017 at VIF Head Quarters.

The VIWA categories reflect a wide spectrum and the VIWA 2018 invites nominations from eligible individuals those are in 'Continuous Regular Service in Research or Academic Institution/Agency'.

The nominees are selected based on the Expert Committee report and Apex Committee recommendations.
