This page provides a summary of the 3rd Annual Research Meet, a full day academic workshop, hosted by the
Centre for Advanced Research and Design (CARD) of Venus International Foundation (VIF) on 11 November 2017 at Radha Regent, Chennai City, India
It is a 3rd
Meet and was attended by 190 participants (represented 16 Country: from England,
Romania, Singapore, Kuwait, Oman, Bahrain, Jordan, Japan, Malaysia, UAE,
Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Egypt and India) those
are in 'Continuous Regular Service in Research or Academic Institution/ Agency'.
Objectives of the Meet
To create opportunities to collaborate and develop a new culture to drive research,
innovation, economic activity and to form bridges among groups, and empower innovation.
To generate alignment as well as points of intersection between the agendas of
research, existing resources and opportunities.
To highlight intellectual capital in order to promote improved technology transfer,
development, and commercialization of the intellectual property.
To strengthen society’s technological capabilities and understanding of the role that
science, technology and innovation play in economic development.
To integrate activities in science, technology, and innovation, with economic
development and competitiveness issues.
This Meet provided an opportunity for participants to share knowledge and explores the
Groundbreaking strategies, Influential Trends, and best practices that define effective
solutions adopted in the fields of Higher Education.
In many ways the meet is unique: the traditions of being by invitation only, have
always been intended to promote intense and positive discussion between the experts in the field.
The intent of the meet is not archival publication, but rather to provide a
forum to build community and to stimulate discussion, new insight and experimentation.
In the Inaugural session (9.15 am to 10.15 am)

Research Awards Ceremony
The Venus International Research Awards (affectionately known as the VIRAs) scheme was
instituted in the year 2015 by the CARD of VIF, are presented yearly during the Annual Research Meet (ARM) that is
conducted during November/December month of the year. The Award (Certificate, Bronze Medal &
Memento; It's a Non-financial Award) scheme has a Criteria, Standards, Regulations, Nomination
Application, Expert Committee and Judging Process etc that are governed by the Board of Trust.
The VIRA 2017 is convened by the CARD of VIF & conducted in accordance with the VIF
BOARD MEETING resolution vide F. No. VIF/MIN/BM-II/2017 held on June 19, 2017 at VIF Head
Quarters invites nominations from eligible individuals those are in 'Continuous Regular Service in Research
or Academic Institution/ Agency' in the age group of 27 - 62 years and working on the frontiers of
(i) Agricultural Sciences (ii) Engineering (iii) Health and Medical Sciences (iv) Humanities and Social
Sciences (v) Management (vi) Science (vii) Veterinary and Animal Sciences.
The nominees are selected based on the Expert Committee report and Apex Committee
